ADA Australia Longreach
Aged and Disability Advocacy Australia (ADA Australia) is a not-for-profit independent organisation serving metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote communities across Queensland, including Longreach.
The mission of our organisation is to improve the well-being of seniors in the Longreach area through our services. Our Longreach team offers aged care advocacy, seniors legal and social support service, and care finder services.
All the services we offer are free-of-charge, confidential, and client-focused. At ADA Australia, our main priority is always our clients and their interests. They are at the heart of what we do, prioritising their needs and preferences in all decisions.
ADA Australia’s Longreach Services
Our Longreach team offers aged care advocacy and care finder services for seniors and the senior’s legal and social support services for outback Queensland. Through these services, we aim to help seniors understand their rights, connect them with aged care supports and services in the community, and provide legal support for concerns about elder abuse, mistreatment, or financial matters. If you or a senior you care for is seeking assistance with understanding, accessing, or finding aged care services or resolving issues with a care provider or mistreatment, the ADA Australia Longreach team is here to help.
Aged Care Advocacy
Our aged care advocacy services are designed to help seniors uphold and understand their rights, communicate care preferences, and resolve any concerns with providers. Our advocacy services include:
- Accessing appropriate care, support, and service options
- Understanding their rights when receiving home care services or residential care
- Raising and addressing any concerns with service agreements, fees, statements, and budgets
- Support with reviewing and negotiating care plans
- Making referrals for additional assessments and services
Our team can also assist clients with assessments, follow up on referrals, and explain financial assessments and fees.
Any seniors living in the Longreach area experiencing problems with their aged care services or experiencing issues with their servicing provisions for the following Australian Government-funded care programs are eligible for our services.
- Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
- Home Care Packages (HCP)
- Residential Aged Care Homes
- Disability Support for Older Australians (DSOA) Program
- Commonwealth-funded dementia services
- Flexible care services, including:
- Short-term restorative care

If you have any questions regarding eligibility or are unsure if you qualify for support, please contact us with your queries.

- Assistance with accessing aged/home or allied health services
- Providing guidance on the completion of forms and service agreements
ADA Law’s Seniors Legal and Social Support Service (SLASSS)
ADA Australia also provides Seniors Legal and Social Support Services (SLASSS) through our ADA Law community legal service. This outreach service is designed to help provide seniors in the Longreach area and across Outback Queensland with access to justice and legal advice. We can help you or someone you care about with:
- Conflicts with family and friends
- Family agreements
- Family or friends using your money
- How you are taken care of at home.
Our team also specialises in guardianship and administrative issues for those living with cognitive impairments or when your capacity is questioned.
