Aged and Disability Advocacy Australia (ADA Australia) is a not-for-profit, independent organisation providing services to Queensland’s metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote communities across the state. Our services also extend to residents of Emerald.
We offer aged care advocacy and disability advocacy to the Emerald community. All our services are free, confidential, and client-directed. So, you decide what you want to happen, and we help you reach your desired outcome.

Aged Care Advocacy
Our aged care advocacy services are designed to help seniors resolve any concerns or issues they’re experiencing with their service providers, understand their rights, and communicate their care preferences.
At ADA Australia, we understand how daunting it can be to navigate the aged care system, especially alone.
Our team can assist with finding and explaining home care and residential options available in Emerald. We can also help review and negotiate care plans and make referrals for assessments and additional services.
The ADA Australia team can also help with raising and addressing any concerns regarding service agreements, fees, statements, and budgets. Seniors in Emerald who are concerned about their service provisions for the following Australian Government-funded aged care programs may be eligible for our assistance.
- Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
- Home Care Packages (HCP)
- Residential Aged Care Homes
- Disability Support for Older Australians (DSOA) Program
- Commonwealth-funded dementia services
- Flexible care services, including:
- Short-term restorative care
- Transition care
- The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care Program

Disability Advocacy
The Emerald ADA Australia team can assist with disability advocacy, providing information on services, referrals, and individual advocacy to people with disabilities who have concerns about their support services or are experiencing issues with unfair treatment or discrimination.
