Aged and Disability Advocacy Australia (ADA Australia) is a not-for-profit, independent organisation serving metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote communities across Queensland, including Cairns.
Our mission is to improve the well-being of seniors in Cairns through our advocacy services. Our Cairns team offers aged care advocacy and ADA Link, a seniors care finder program.
All our services are free, confidential, and client-focused. The client is always at the heart of what we do, prioritising their needs and preferences.
ADA Australia’s Cairns Services
Our experienced team provides aged care advocacy for seniors and senior care finder services in the Cairns area. Through our service, we aim to connect seniors with care options and help them understand their rights and needs. If you or a vulnerable senior you care about requires help accessing aged care services or resolving issues with your aged care services, the Cairns ADA Australia team is here to help. We can help with any concerns regarding the aged care system, help you understand your rights and more.
Aged Care Advocacy
Our team provides aged care advocacy services for Cairns residents which are designed to help seniors uphold their rights and have their voices heard. We can help people to:
- Access appropriate care, support, and service options
- Understand their rights when receiving home care or residential care
- Raise and address any care-related problems and communicate preferences
- Assist with raising/addressing concerns regarding service agreements, fees, statements, and budgets
- Support to review and negotiate care plans
- Making referrals for assessments and additional services
Our team can also assist with supporting clients at assessments and following up on referrals. We can also help with explaining financial assessments and fees.

- Assistance with accessing aged/home or allied health services
- Providing guidance with the completion of forms and understanding service agreements
