ADA Australia Beenleigh
Aged and Disability Advocacy Australia (ADA Australia) is a not-for-profit, independent organisation providing advocacy services across Queensland’s metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote communities, including the Beenleigh area.
Our organisation works to improve the well-being of older people and those living with disabilities through advocacy support and community legal services. Our services are free, confidential, and client-directed.
ADA Australia’s Beenleigh Services
We provide aged care advocacy, disability advocacy, and community legal service to seniors and people living with disabilities in the Beenleigh area. We help people understand their rights and care options.
If you or a loved one are having concerns about aged or disability care services, require help communicating preferences, or need individual support, the team here at ADA Australia may be able to help.
Aged Care Advocacy
Our aged care advocacy services help seniors in the Beenleigh area uphold their rights and understand the care options they have available. We specialise in assisting people to access the appropriate care and support options, communicate care preferences, and resolve issues with aged care providers.
At ADA Australia, we understand that navigating aged care health systems can be challenging. That’s why we provide our aged care advocacy services—we work to help people understand their residential and home care options and how to access them free of charge.
Our team can also assist with reviewing and negotiating care plans, as well as making referrals for assessments and additional services. We may also be able to help in addressing issues regarding service agreements, fees, statements, and budgets.
Seniors living in Beenleigh who have issues accessing aged care support services or have concerns about their service provisions for the following Australian Government-funded aged care programs are eligible for our help.
- Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
- Home Care Packages (HCP)
- Residential Aged Care Homes
- Disability Support for Older Australians (DSOA) Program
- Commonwealth-funded dementia services
- Flexible care services, including:
- Short-term restorative care
- Transition care
- The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flexible Aged Care Program
Disability Advocacy
Our disability advocacy services provide information, referrals, and individual advocacy support to people living with a disability in the Beenleigh area. ADA Australia can assist those having issues with their support services, disability discrimination or unfair treatment, as well as navigating the NDIS, planning, service delivery, and reviews.
We can assist people when they are wanting to raise or address concerns regarding care providers, support services, or government agencies.
ADA Law Community Legal Service
ADA Australia provides community legal services, including legal advice, representation, and non-legal advocacy regarding guardianship and administrative matters to people in the Beenleigh area. This service also extends to Enduring Powers of Attorney and support and representation before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT) and the Mental Health Review Tribunal (MHRT).
Our team also provides support to those at risk of or experiencing elder abuse in residential aged care. If you or someone you care for is looking for assistance, the ADA Australia team may be able to help.
Clients eligible for assistance with elder abuse are adults over 65 years of age, residing in residential aged care homes, and experiencing (or at risk of experiencing) elder abuse from either formal or informal decision-makers, carers, or friends.
