ADA Australia Atherton
Aged and Disability Advocacy Australia (ADA Australia) is a not-for-profit, independent organisation that provides services to metropolitan, regional, rural, and remote communities in Queensland, including the Atherton area.
Our organisation’s mission is to improve the quality of life and well-being of seniors across the state through our advocacy and community services.
Our advocacy services are client-focused, confidential and free; there are no out-of-pocket costs for our advocacy services. At ADA Australia, we prioritise our client’s needs and preferences as they are at the heart of what we do.
ADA Australia’s Atherton Services
ADA Australia provides aged care advocacy services in the town of Atherton. These services include assisting people in navigating complex aged care service systems, communicating care preferences, and more.
Aged Care Advocacy
Our Atherton aged care advocacy services work to assist older people in upholding and understanding their rights, as well as ensuring their voices are heard. Our team specialises in assisting seniors in accessing the appropriate care and support services in the area and resolving any concerns they may have about care or their providers.
At ADA Australia, we understand how daunting navigating the aged care system can be. We are here to help seniors understand all the available residential and home care support options, assist with accessing them, and ensure their preferences are communicated.
Our team can also assist with reviewing and negotiating care plans and making referrals for assessments and additional services. We can also help with the following:
- Supporting clients at assessments
- Explaining financial assessments and fees
- Identifying local aged care providers and aged care facilities
- Raising and helping to address concerns about service agreements, fees, statements, and budgets
If you’re a senior living in Atherton who has trouble accessing aged care support services or is concerned about your service provisions for the following Australian Government-funded aged care programs, you are eligible for our help.
