From the 18th of February the Intergovernmental Working Group will be holding its first meeting in Geneva to make decisions about how it will organise the drafting process for a UN Convention on the Rights of Older Persons.
This has been the culmination of many years of collective advocacy from community organisations and governments around the world.
But we need to make sure that older people, and the organisations that support them, are included in this process and that their concerns and views are central to any work on developing this historic treaty.
Rights matter – they are central to embedding the human rights of older people in our society and overcoming ageism.
Join us in a Global Rally, calling on governments and the UN to make sure that older people and community service organisations are fully included in the drafting process.
Post on Facebook or LinkedIn with a short message about what rights are universally important for older people, #GlobalRally2026.
We’d love to hear what you think.
