In our last edition of The Advocate we were pleased to announce that ADA Australia is working in partnership with Caxton Legal Centre to deliver the 6th National Elder Abuse Conference. Planning for this event is now well underway and we are excited to be able to confirm a date and venue to lock into your diary – the event will be held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on July 22-23, 2019.
This conference will build on the 5th National Elder Abuse Conference held in Sydney earlier this year, which featured an impressive range of keynote speakers and attracted more than 500 delegates from the aged care, legal, financial, government and service sectors – along with local community members.
The upcoming Brisbane-based event comes at an opportune time, with the National Elder Action Plan set to be released in early 2019. We look forward to the 2019 conference, progressing the planning and theory around elder abuse, and hosting an in-depth look at some practical solutions for responding to and preventing elder abuse.
ADA Australia and Caxton Legal Centre invite you to register your interest in this event by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
